Thank you for reading the short page, and be sure to provide us with your thoughts on each post in the Cat Chat page! We'd absolutely purr to your suggestions for another Cat Care section!
Check-Ups
Cat got your tongue? Maybe it just wants some medical attention, which is needed for a happy healthy life. If your cat is bugging you, be sure to check with your local vet if it's okay. I'm sure it will be, but safe is sure. If your cat turns out to have some form of medical need, then be sure to fulfill this need before it gets the better of you.
Not only can you take the cat to the vet for researched medical needs, but for regular check-ups too! All cats require medical attention, whether for injury or for a simple check. Get shots, neutered, spayed, stitched, whatever it is, it's important! Remember, all cats have a health, just as you do. You wouldn't like to be left on the street with a broken leg and a cold would you? You'd want to go to the hospital. Think about that when you ignore your pets.
Cat Colour
A cat's colour mightn't seem important, but really, it is. This will affect it's suitable enviroment, and possibly yours. You see, a black cat gets lots of warmth, as it sucks in the heat from the sun; while a white cat will be colder, as it reflects the sun's heat. Just think about snow. Snow is cold, right? Well, this is because of its shine. It acts as a mirror when the sun hits it, and blasts the light back in to space. It is indeed exactly the same with a cat! All this means, is that when choosing a kitten, if you have not already, make sure you find one with a colour that suits your enviroment :3!
If you already own a cat, and its colour does not suit, then you might have to change something. Many cats will not mind, but they will mind less if you change your surroundings. All you need to do is set up an area in your house, one that your cat likes quite a lot. Turn it in to the perfect place for them. Say you had a black cat, you'd want to give them some white snuggly material's for them to lie on, or maybe even paint the room white? You can also do this outside, by supplying shade in the right places, or even take away the shade!
Pet Peeves
Many things irritate cats, and when they hiss or scratch because of one of these things, it's called a pet peev. Some of the more common sources of these "pet peeves" are things such as, being picked up, or maybe even just being rubbed in a sensitive spot like the stomach. Don't get angry at your cats when such things happen, but take their irritation gently. Slowly attempt to fix the problem, or just avoid irritating them more. Be sure not to take out your anger on them, because doing so will cause them damage, both physically and emotionally. Treat them well, and treat their peeves well too.
Litterbox Problems
All kittens face the stage in life, usually at the very beginning, when they have to use the litterbox. There is a wide range of litters nowadays, unlike way back when in the 1940's when they had to use ash or sand. Many of the more popular types like clay cat litter or corn cat litter.
Clay cat litter is the usual option for most cat lovers. It's cheap and does the job perfectly. It doesn't exactly soak the urine up, but it sure does reduce the odor!
Corn cat litter, in my opinion, is the best though. It soaks the urine up completely and naturally gets rid of the odor, replacing it with a sweet and natural corn odor. It is also quite cheap, but not the cheapest. However, it is one of the greatest alternative cat litters!

Some of the problems given with litterboxes are annoying and seemingly impossible to stop. One of those many things is cats not even using the litterbox!
This may be because of the stench. Would you like to walk in to your bathroom and find dung everywhere, wreaking odor everywhere? I sure wouldn't. This problem is easily fixed with a natural and non-toxic air freshener, like some that you can buy to keep your car nice and fresh!
Hang one of these helpful sweet smellers to the wall of the litterbox, or if it isn't walk in, on a nearby wall. This should soon help to stop your cat from avoiding the litterbox!
Another reason for cats not using the litterbox is the fact that it's dirty and cluttered with turds and urine. Cat litters should be replaced when it begins to be soggy and wet, usually after about three or four days. Not cleaning the litter out can result in odor's like never smelt before and dirty grounds. Cats often attempt to be helpful and clean it out themselves, but this just makes the outside of the litterbox a mess! Be sure to 'take out the trash' every now and again..
